40-60 feet. Shallow dive with nice exydoyi coral heads, octupus, and frog fish sightings. Easy dive for beginners.

Poipu Beach

Shallow protected bay. Excellent snorkeling for beginning through advanced. Best on the left side of bay, 3-12 feet. Lifeguard, showers and bathroom facilities. Great for families.

Prince Kuhio Park

Shallow beginning through advanced snorkeling. A little shallow for scuba. Rocky entry, but very protected bay. Turtles are the highlight. 3-21 feet. Directly across from the Prince Kuhio Park.

Beach House/ Lawai Beach

Excellent snorkeling, lots of small reef fish, good coral formations, occasional monk seals and turtles. 3-12 feet. bathrooms, showers and telephone.

Zac's Pocket

80-100 feet. Named after our very own Captain Zac! Lava fingers extend out on the southern most tip of Kauai. Intermediate to advanced divers. Access by boat.

Brennecke's Ledge

65-84 feet. Large shelf with black coral and sharks. Great drift dive. Intermediate to advanced. Access by boat.

Nukumoi Point

30-60 feet, also known as Tortugas (turtles) home of many Hawaiian green sea turtles. Good shallow dive for beginning through advanced.

Harbor Ledges

60-70 feet. Excellent reef formation only minutes away from Kukui’ula harbor. Sea turtles and schooling fish. Excellent dive for beginners to intermediate divers.

General Store/Turtle Bluff

60-90 feet. You’ll find a little bit of everything, trees of black coral, intriguing rock formations teeming with marine life. Seas turtles, sharks and manta rays are also occasional visitors.

North Shore

Ke'e Beach

3-8 feet. Located at the end of the road. Strictly a flat water conditions snorkeling spot. Stay inside the reef. Conditions can be very dangerous past the reef. Follow the highway until it ends. This is the beginning to the Na Pail Coast and trail.

3-8 feet. Snorkeling to the left side of the beach. A very shallow snorkeling site so there is not much coral growth. Great tide pool walking. Bathrooms and showers.

Boat Dive

3-10 feet. Very protected. good for beginning snorkeling and bad weather days. Best to snorkel next to children’s Playground. Located next to the Wailua River..

    Kauai Scuba Diving Conditions Information
    Visibility & Temperatures
    The Average visibility is 60-80 feet. It also tends to be a bit better during winter months. Water temperatures range between 71-72 during the winter and 80-81 during summer months.
    Currents
    Currents are variable and change by the day. Some dive sites such as Niihau can experience fairly strong currents where drift diving is done.
    Best Months For Diving
    In the winter the visibility tends to be a bit better. Visibility during any months will be affected by rains. After heavy rains it can be as low as 30 feet. On nice days it can be as much as 100 feet. Visibility on Niihau tends to be better than around Kauai.
