Certification Programs

Seasport Divers offers many convenient ways to experience scuba diving as well as becoming a PADI certified diver! We also offer many specialty certifications as well as a”Rusty” diver refresher program.

 

DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING

Don’t have time to get certified but still want to go SCUBA Diving? Seasport Divers participates in the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program, sometimes called a Resort Class, this program allows Non-Certified Divers to experience the thrill of the underwater world with an Instructor right there by your side. Participate in a short lesson and then perform the skills you learned with the gear on in the pool. Swim around for a while and get comfortable and now your ready for the next step . . . the ocean!! After you complete the FREE Pool lesson you can join us for a one or two-tank Shore Dive or a two-tank dive on the Afternoon Boat Trip. The maximum depth Non-Certified Divers are allowed to dive is 40 feet and the groups are small, not more then 4 non-certified divers to 1 instructor.

RUSTY DIVER/REFRESHER

If you are a bit rusty and want to brush up on the basics, you can join us for the free pool lesson before the afternoon charter and get re-acquainted with breathing underwater! When you make your reservation, mention that you would like to do the pool lesson to brush up on your skills.

OPEN WATER CERTIFICATION

Classes run three consecutive days and start Monday, Wednesday, And Friday.

Pick up your learning materials at least a day ahead of time and read chapters 1-3 and do the Knowledge Reviews for those sections before the start of class. Then spend time in the classroom going over Knowledge Reviews, taking quizzes and watching videos, an afternoon in the pool, a test and a little homework, plus 4 dives in the ocean and you’re OPEN WATER CERTIFIED.

COST: $475 includes books, all equipment, instruction and 4 shore dives. Dives 3 and 4 can be done from the Boat for an additional $70.

REFERRAL DIVE PROGRAM

IF YOU HAVE COMPLETED ALL OF YOUR CLASSROOM WORK AND POOL WORK AT HOME AND JUST NEED TO DO YOUR DIVES YOU CAN COMPLETE A REFERRAL PROGRAM. Lot of people coming to Kauai get certified this way! Complete all your bookwork, pool work, quizzes and test with your local Dive Shop. Then while here on vacation spend just 2 half days to complete your certification in the warm waters of Kauai.

If you’ve already gone on Dives 1 & 2 and just need dives 3 & 4 to complete your certification, we can take care of that too.

COST: $300 – 4 Shore Dives, all equipment and Instruction.

(Optional Upgrade to above: $70 additional for dives 3 and 4 from the Boat.)

$200 – 2 Shore Dives, all equipment and Instruction.

Seasport Divers is a member of the UNIVERSAL REFERRAL PROGRAM, which recognizes NAUI, SSI, NASDS, IDEA, PDIC, TDI and the YMCA. So if you’ve started your OPEN WATER Certification class with any of these agencies, we can complete your class here in the warm, clear waters of Kauai.

ADVANCED OPEN WATER

Yes, there is a book to read like your OPEN WATER Class, but this is a DIVING Class!! There are 5 dives necessary to complete the ADVANCED OPEN WATER Class, two required dives and 3 electives. The two required dives are the DEEP DIVE and the NAVIGATION DIVE. Then YOU CHOOSE your three elective dives from a long list that includes, NIGHT, DRIFT, BOAT, UNDERWATER NATURALIST, UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY, COMPUTER, SEARCH and RECOVERY and many more. Spend two to three days with an Instructor honing your diving skills while furthering your diving knowledge and experience.

COST: $450 includes books, all equipment, 3 Shore Dives and 2 Boat Dives and Instruction.

RESCUE DIVER

This course teaches you how to react in a diving emergency and makes you better able to self rescue. In the PADI RESCUE DIVER class you learn how to help prevent diving emergencies from happening, and also how to manage emergencies if they do happen. The class consists of 12 specific rescue scenarios that are completed in the water over three days. There is class work and of course a book to read. The Rescue Diver experience is a huge confidence builder and an extremely rewarding class for many divers.

COST: $450 includes books, all dives done from the Shore, all equipment and instruction.

ENRICHED AIR NITROX

Great news! The most popular PADI Specialty course – Enriched Air Diver – is available online. With the PADI Enriched Air Diver Course Online, you complete the knowledge development portion of the course on your own time and at your convenience. This innovative new program provides a dive-computer only option, which simplifies the learning process and enables you to get in the water sooner using Enriched Air.

Or

Spend just a half a day in the classroom and you can enjoy all the benefits of diving with Enriched Air NITROX. Learn how to safely dive with Enriched Air and how to determine the Maximum Operating Depth for different mixtures and calculate specific oxygen limits. You will also calculate Equivalent Air Depths and gain hands on experience with Oxygen Analyzers and NITROX Dive Computers.

COST: $225 includes book, and instruction.

If you don’t see the specialty you want to take listed…Not a problem. Just let us know what class you want to take and we will set it up for you. With all the instructors we have on Staff, we can teach every specialty there is.

PADI E-Learning Program

PADI E-Learning Program

E-Learning provides you convenience and and enables you to learn at your own pace. You’ll also save time on vacation because you’ll complete your reading and exams before you arrive.

Schedule
Once you sign up, we will email you the link for your PADI online course. You will need a constant internet connection to complete the program. All of your reading, videos, quizzes and exams will be done via E-Learning. Once you complete the program, you will print out your course record and bring that with you to your first day of your class. You will do a short review, then head to the water for your confined water training. On the second day, you will complete two open water dives from shore at Koloa Landing. The last day, you will complete your last two Open Water Dives either from shore in the morning, or you can choose to upgrade and go off the afternoon charter.

Price
The cost for the E-Learning Open Water Certification is $525,which includes the link to the PADI E-Learning Program, all required equipment, the confined water training, and the four shore dives. It is an additional $70 if you want to add the boat upgrade. If you choose to do the E-learning option, there is a $100 non-refundable deposit once we send you the link to the e-learning. If you are unable to complete the course with us (due to illness, bad weather, change of travel plans, etc) you will still have access to the online course for a year and can finish the class with any PADI dive shop.

If the participant fails the medical questionnaire a doctor must give a written statement, using the linked form, (faxes are ok) that scuba activities are safe and allowed for this participant prior to going scuba diving. Keiki Programs

Kids 8 to 9 years old can begin their Underwater SCUBA adventure with the PADI program BUBBLEMAKERS and 10 to14 year olds are able to attain the ranking of JR-OPEN WATER CERTIFIED.

 

BUBBLEMAKERSBUBBLEMAKERS

This PADI designed program allows 8 and 9 year olds to experience SCUBA diving in a safe shallow pool under the direct supervision of a qualified SCUBA instructor. This is a great way to introduce future SCUBA divers to the underwater world in a safe, controlled environment. Child sized SCUBA gear; fins, mask, wetsuit and toys are provided.

BUBBLEMAKER OCEAN DIVES

Children, wBUBBLEMAKER OCEAN DIVESho have participated in the Bubblemakers pool experience, can then graduate to ocean diving in shallow water to a maximum depth of 6 feet. A qualified SCUBA instructor conducts Bubblemaker ocean dives at one of Poipu’s fabulous snorkel sites where children can swim with the fish, in a safe protected area. Child sized SCUBA gear is provided and all activities are safe and designed with the child in mind. Participation in Ocean Bubblemakers is at the instructor’s discretion, and will depend upon the child’s abilities and water conditions. A parent or guardian is required to attend. All gear provided.

 

JR. OPEN WATER

This program is conducted exactly like an open water class for anyone younger than 15, except for the exceJUNIOR OPEN WATERption of maximum depth. JR Divers 10-11 are limited to a maximum depth of 40 feet. 12-14 years old are limited to a maximum depth of 60 feet on training dives 3 and 4, and 70 feet for dives afterward until the age of 15. They still have to flood their masks and all the other fun stuff the adults get to do, as well as the knowledge reviews, quizzes and the test. This is a for real class! Instructor discretion on children 10 and 11 still applies. There are important concepts and safety concerns that need to be fully understood by the student. Certified JR Divers must be accompanied by an adult or Divemaster on all dives.
